With the tournaments in the rear view, new champions crowned, and a women’s division slowly but surely being built up into something that can sustain its own championship hopefully by years end, GOWC returns to Buffalo and the JFK Rec Center to start the second leg of their unpredictable journey. The team is negotiating for larger arenas in the Western and Central NY region, with the Dome Center in Henrietta signed on for the first October show, but anything past that hinges on how well these next few shows are received.
The good news is the new investors and the success of the last Origins show has given the team enough cash to finally, firmly establish a Women’s Division, hiring on several talents, including one at the behest of Bobby Heenan, Josephine Blatt. In fact, the Brain has been lobbying for a few different talents, and while the team is little hesitant given his track record, he is managing the conference’s champion and everyone he’s asking for are names that, frankly, will sell tickets, so they’re being booked for the Henrietta show so they can have sufficient time to make travel arrangements. In the meantime, to build to the return of Keith Lee a pair of his backstage allies, D’Lo Brown and Super Nova, will get a crack at the champ, Nick Bockwinkle, and his Heenan Family ally, Big Bully Busick, in the penultimate match before the main event. Said main event was demanded, quite loudly, by Bruiser Brody in the wake of his elimination from the battle royal by Jeff Cobb. It is, after all, the match Cobb has been wanting for a good while, so it wasn’t like they needed to twist his arm much, figuratively. With that set, the next phase of the GOWC’s conference begins at…

A very receptive audience welcomes GOWC back to Buffalo, and not a second is being wasted as we go right on to the action!
KILLER of the TEXAS HANGMEN vs JAKE “THE MILKMAN” MILLIMAN With Psycho at ringside applying the "more cowbell" mindset of interference, this one is fairly cut and dry for the ever unlucky Milkman. An easy 3 count for Killer.
Special announcement regarding rankings and the Women's Championship We join Alicia Coast backstage for this live announcement:
Alicia Coast: Hello fans, I've been given this proclamation from the owners of Greater Ontario Wrestling. The company is working on a rankings scoring system that will help determine contendership for our singles and tag team championships. We expect to debut it at our next show in two weeks in Henrietta, New York. Tonight, though, we are beginning to determine who will be going on to take part in an Four Women's Ontario Rules Match for the Women's Championship. The first four women to accumulate three singles match victories by pinfall or submission will advance to the match. Tonight we have two matches with debuting talents taking on some ladies we've seen in past shows, and our next show will have three more matches featuring the rest of our growing roster of women from around the globe! I believe we're ready to introduce our first round, and-
Bobby "The Brain" Heenan blusters his way onto the interview set.
Bobby Heenan: I'll be damned, you really do work here, don't you?! Either that or you're just stalking one of our talents. Let me guess-
Alicia Coast: No, you are not demeaning me tonight, Heenan. But since you're here, you do have a significant player in the women's division a lot of people are expecting to make it to the final match that I'd like to hear from you about. How did you convince a notoriously proud woman like the Living Minerva herself, Josephine Blatt, to sign on with you?
Bobby Heenan: Ahh, now that's more like it! The Living Minerva, as she is so aptly named, is the True Wonder of Women's Wrestling! There is no specimen of the female persuasion in this business who compares to her. At 230 pounds of purse muscle and unfiltered aggression, she is the odds on favorite to become the first women's champion here! And she took my offer because I manage champions! Nick Bockwinkle is the first singles champion in this conference, and the only man here with an undefeated streak. Between his skill and smarts, and my guidance, he gets things done in the ring, unlike the Hostess Twinkie's Blimp, Keith Lee! We haven't forgotten about you, Keith, especially since when you're not auditioning for Shakespeare in the Park, you're making threats against Bockwinkle and myself. I'd watch tonight very carefully, Keith. Your buddy Below Brown and that cape-wearing clown tag partner of his are in for the nastiest night of their lives when Big Bad Busick and the champ Nick Bockwinkle are through with them! Now if you'll excuse me, Josephine's match is up now.
And he dashes off to be at his charge's side for...
JOSEPHINE BLATT w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs WILLOW NIGHTENGALE Willow was ready for dirty play, blocking an eye gouge at the bell and suplexing her to the mat, but the second one is blocked by Blatt's sheer power. The two trade moves, with Willow relying on her comparative agility and Blatt doing her best to be the immovable object against her foe's determination. It's a sight when Josephine Blatt lifts up Willow with both hands and just shakes her like she owes Blatt money, then throws her to the matt! A hip and harness lift is followed by a gut buster, and Willow eats the loss to the debuting strongwoman.
TIGER CONWAY JR vs BARON VON RASCHKE The Baron tries to launch Tiger into the turnbuckle at the start, but he quickly reverses it and lands a kick followed by a flying head scissors for a distinct early advantage. Raschke is tough as nails, though, and after Conway Jr. goes to the head scissors well one too many times, he counters and begins to knee and elbow strike with malice forethought. Tiger has to desperately escape the Brain Claw twice in a row, and only manages to escape the hellish beating by escaping a fireman's carry attempt and striking hard and fast. A flying head butt only gets a 2 count, and the war between these two men looking for a break-out win just intensifies. After more back and forth action including a second flying head butt from Conway Jr., the momentum of a flawless cross body block off the top rope is finally enough for the second generation star to pick up a hard fought win!
COLT CABANA vs GREG “THE HAMMER” VALENTINE w/”Luscious” Johnny V Chicago's favorite wrestling podcaster is just a man on FIRE, and this match can be summed up with three words: Billy Goat's Curse. Colt hits this devastating move several times but still can't put the stubborn Valentine down to the mat for a pin. It gets to a point where it looks like Valentine's out on his feet, and Cabana waves his hand in front of his foe's eye only for Valentine to snatch it and take over on offense. Greg chops Colt down to size for a two count, but liberal use of the ropes on Colt's throat takes the wind out of him for a pinfall victory. Johnny V boasts to the camera, but you can see in his eyes he knows Valentine dodged a bullet here.
TINA MORETTI vs LADY SHANI A clothesline attempt by Tina gets caught, and Lady Shani tosses her to the turnbuckle only to get hit by an even harder clothesline, netting Tina a 2 count. Moretti lands a Northern Lights Suplex a mere moment later, and to the surprise of damn near everyone, that gets her the win! Shani kicks out just milliseconds after referee Krissi Harding hits three, and Shani argues with her for a moment, but Krissi stands by her count and a dejected Lady Shani decides she has no choice but to accept the hand dealt to her.
BIG BULLY BUSICK & GOCW CHAMPION NICK BOCKWIKLE w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs D’LO BROWN & SUPER NOVA Nova and Bockwinkle trade counter holds until Nick lands a devastating back suplex to get an early 2 count. He and the Bully cut the ring in half, and Busick even locks on the Stump Puller, but Nova reaches the ropes. The Bully just rag dolls Super Nova, and D'Lo has to break up a pin attempt following one of Busick's power slams. Nova gets absolutely no daylight as Bockwinkle takes back over, pummeling him outside the ring and locking in the Bockwinkle Sleeper, and again D'Lo makes the save! Heenan's had enough of this and he grabs D'Lo before he can stop another Sleeper, and Nova's just out like a light before D'Lo can do much else.
At that, Bockwinkle drops the hold and tells Busick to put Nova on the shelf, and the Bully slaps on the Stump Puller on the unconscious Nova! D'Lo is cut off from saving his partner by Bockwinkle, and D'Lo manages to get the better of it hitting Bockwinkle with the Sky High! Before he can get up, though, a figure jumps the barricade and lifts Brown by the neck, only to slam him down to the mat! It's HAKU! And he's not alone, because Tiger Conway Jr. tries to aid his friends only to get waffled by chair shots from two more men jumping the barricade, quickly identified as SCOTT NORTON and ANGELICO! Bobby Heenan gleefully directs traffic as this quintet continues to punish their victims to the crowd showering boos and even used food wrappers on them! Referees, security and every other staff member Justin Toner can get out to the ringside area stops the carnage from getting any more insane, but the story here is the Heenan Family is more powerful than ever!
BRUISER BRODY vs “MR ATHLETIC” JEFF COBB After order is somehow restored and referee Matt Tobin can catch his breath to officiate the main event, the introductions of two of the conference's most destructive men are made. And as the bell rings, the bombs start flying! It's just bedlam, as Brody launches Cobb like he were a man half his size, and Cobb shows his own strength is a match for the taller Brody. It's back and forth, with Cobb gaining only a slight advantage following a 2 count off a moonsault, only for the Bruiser to swing the tide with his jumping knee drop for a 2 only a couple minutes later. A second jumping knee drop, and Brody's momentum picks up. A third such drop, and Cobb can't get up from the pin.
Brody looks at Cobb as he struggles to stand up. It looks like the Bruiser might show his foe some respect, but instead when Cobb gets to one knee, he SLAMS him to the canvas with a lariat! Brody screams "STAY DOWN, YOU JACKASS!!" at Jeff Cobb, fury in his eyes, as the show finally fades to black.

DATE: September 25 through October 8
"They won't be able to make the Buffalo card, he said. They'll be in Henrietta for a proper debut, he said!" That was the highly annoyed refrain James Irish was saying the entire morning at the GOWC offices the day after the event in Buffalo, where Bobby Heenan had his newly hired guns waiting in the wings to try and take out any potential help Keith Lee might have before his return. None of the three victims of the assault (D'Lo Brown, Super Nova and Tiger Conway Jr.) were significantly injured, mercifully, but contracts had already been written up for both Haku's debut match and Keith Lee's return match, not to mention the rest of the card, meaning the next confrontations between these factions will need to wait a little bit longer. It's not like these will be heatless matches, of course; Haku will be taking on "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, an old rival of his across several territories, and Keith Lee will be testing his mettle against Conference Championship Tournament finalist Shane Douglas, who is looking to rebuild his record and get into contention.
Most of all, the qualifying matches for the Four Women's Ontario Rules Match for the Women's Conference Championship will be a major highlight of the evening. Two more noted competitors, "The Native Beast" Nyla Rose and "The Librarian" Leva Bates, have signed on with the company hoping to add being the first champion in a belt's lineage to their lists of accolades, and the night's main event will feature two of the best in the business, Jazz and Kairi Sane, vying for their first points in the series. A new standard of wrestling action will be set for the Dome Arena at...

A wild, rabid crowd of wrestling fans are ready for action in GOWC’s first appearance at the Dome Arena in Henrietta!
LANCE CASSIDY vs BARON VON RASCHKE
Lance quickly slips away from a fireman's carry attempt and tosses Raschke into the ropes, but the Baron sees the back body drop attempt coming from a mile away. He lays on the Brain Claw, getting the submission victory...
... but he refuses to let go! Referee Krissi Harding tries to get him to stop, even trying to get between him and Cassidy, but the Baron casts her aside into the ropes! The referee corps races in and it takes every one of them (there’s three) to get Raschke to break the hold and send him to the back, and Cassidy needs to be assisted up but is able to exit without aid.
"THE LIBRARIAN" LEVA BATES vs MAKI ITOH Eager to prove she's not just a pretty face in a frumpy outfit (by women's wrestling standards), Leva launches Maki into the turnbuckle with a dropkick, rams her with shoulders there, and hits Critical Confirmation for a 2 count. Maki slips out of the ring, and Leva follows her, only to get SPEARED into the steel steps! Maki rolls Leva into the ring for the pin, believing she has it won, but Leva kicks out! Maki completely loses her temper, engaging in a punching catfight with Leva, before pulling her up to flip the bird and slap the Librarian in the face. That woke her up, and here come the roundhouse kicks and the Shiranui for a pin!
BEAR COUNTRY (BEAR BRONSON & BEAR BOULDER) vs WAR MACHINE (HANSON & ROWE) Rowe and Bronson open up, and Rowe has something to prove as he begins suplexing Bronson around the ring in a variety of ways, tagging in Hanson. The big man knocks Bear Bronson out of the ring, but the Bears are every bit as savvy out there as the War Machine is and Bronson is quickly able to body slam Hanson into the corner of the apron! Back in the ring, Bronson hits the Grizzly Driver for a 2 count, and now Boulder enters the match for the first time. Hanson tries to get back in, but the Kodiak Cannonball double team move and a BIG press slam keeps him down. The second attempt, though, Hanson clubs out of, leading to a series of tags from both teams as the advantage shifts back and forth. A pin on Rowe following a Death Valley Driver from Bear Boulder gets a 2 count, as does a Bearsault.
Bear Bronson is back in for the Elevator Drop, and even that isn't enough to put Rowe away. It's back to the shoulders until Rowe catches Bronson and DEADLIFT German Suplexes him to the mat with a massive THUD! Bronson is thrown around some more until he can dive to the tag, and Boulder takes over, fallaway slamming Rowe into Hanson, and scoring another Elevator Drop on Rowe, but again just a 2 count! The fans are STUNNED! Bronson lands the Grizzly Driver, and Hanson barely (ha) makes the save! Rowe only just gets the tag, and Hanson is on fire as he hits Snake Eyes on Boulder and gets a 2 count! The mayhem goes in and out of the ring, and it eventually gets down to Bronson hitting a standing uranage on Hanson for a pin attempt, but Rowe runs in, Boulder intercepts, and Hanson reverses the pin for a 2 count! This absolute marathon of pain finally ends with Boulder and Hanson, with the former tagging in Bronson for one more Kodiak Cannonball, and the pin, finally, mere seconds before the time limit!!
The audience gives both teams a standing ovation, but when Bear Country goes to shake their foes hands, War Machine just rolls out of the ring in frustration.
INTERVIEW WITH D'LO BROWN AND SUPER NOVA
Backstage with Alicia Coast…
Alicia Coast: Gentlemen, though I have multitudes of questions, I imagine you’d rather I just hand you the floor so you can say what’s on your mind.
She points the mic to D’Lo first.
D’Lo Brown: Oh, I can’t even begin to tell you how pissed off we are! The Weasel wanted to pop off and break us harder than they broke Keith?? Tiger’s resting up from those chairs he took to his back, he’ll be back next show, and the only reason we’re not looking to return the favor is because the brass here is tripling fines tonight if wrestlers get involved in matches they’re not contracted to participate in. *chuckles* Man, that Toner guy doesn’t mess around, does he? But it doesn’t matter! All this means is we have the time we need to regroup, and Keith has the time to show he ain’t lost a step! The games are over, and you better recognize just who we are!! Nova?
Super Nova: I know I’m the odd duck of the bunch, a guy dressed as a super hero standing side by side with some of my more serious brethren. But you all know what I’m capable of. I bet that’s why your champion and your throwback bully worked so hard to keep me cut off from D’Lo two weeks ago, Heenan. You boys are clever, I’ll give you that much, and Bockwinkle’s a champion for a reason. All it means is we have to fight that much harder, act smarter, and be braver. Rest assured, Bobby Heenan, Nick Bockwinkle, and all the rest of you: there will be justice, and like D’Lo said, there will be recognition.
Alicia Coast: I think that sums it up. Back to ringside!
"THE NATIVE BEAST" NYLA ROSE vs "SUPER BAD GIRL" PENELOPE FORD To the surprise of the fans, it's a somewhat kinder, somewhat friendlier but not exactly gentler Nyla Rose as she glad-hands her way down the isle. A fan is holding a "My Twitter Game is Better" sign, and Nyla playfully jawjacks back, clearly just trying to have fun with the audience.
Nyla powers Ford into the ropes, but the Super Bad Girl slingblades her foe down and quickly goes for Cattle Mutilation, but the Native Beast reaches the ropes. Penelope presses her advantage with thrust and roundhouse kicks, but as she attempts an Irish Whip, Nyla catches her, hangs her in the ropes and quickly lands a knee! Nyla powers Ford to the mat for a pin but only gets a 2. A succession of running power slams and a double leg drop still can't keep Ford down for 2, but the Beast Bomb cannot be denied!
POST-INTERMISSION REPORT
Linwood Knight and Stokely Hathaway are at the commentary desk.
Linwood Knight: Fans on IWTV, welcome back to Greater Ontario Wrestling, where we just had a violent scene. Jeff Cobb, since he isn’t scheduled to be in the ring tonight, took it upon himself to do an autograph session for the fans in attendance during intermission, when this happened:
We cut to footage of Cobb signing an 8x10 for the last fan in line, and once he’s done, Bruiser Brody storms in with his chain! He takes his chain-wrapped fists to Cobb with a fury, bellowing “You’re going to show your face here after the beating I gave you last time?! You little punk!! If you won’t learn your place, I’m going to make you stay in it!” Security and even some of the wrestlers who have finished their matches or aren’t on the card have to scramble to get Bruiser off of Jeff, and we cut back to Linwood and Stokely.
Stokely Hathaway: Leave it to Bruiser Brody to find the weak spot in security tonight. I really have to take more notes from his playbook, once I have some talent here I could have them do some serious damage with just half his instincts!
Linwood Knight: And you wonder why I didn’t shake your hand when you joined the commentary team?
"HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN vs HAKU w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan New ring announcer Mike Cusey makes a point to note before the bell, "A diplomatic representative from the Island of Tonga has requested that I state the following: 'We in no way, shape or form endorse the actions of Haku. He is not representative of the Island, its government or its people. We truly hope you will still consider us as a vacation destination in spite of this lunatic!'"
The bell rings, Hacksaw starts his USA chant, but Haku is having none of that! The Wraith of Haku is nearly enough to put Duggan down. A savate kick, a diving head butt and the Tongan Death Grip quickly make the point and the submission. Heenan gets his charge to let go, not wanting to risk still more fines on top of what he had to pay for the last event's utter madness. The added security at the entranceway also had just a little to do with it, we imagine, and said security remains for the following match as well.
"LIMITLESS" KEITH LEE vs SHANE DOUGLAS w/Francine
Lee receives a hero's welcome in his big return match, but an undaunted Shane Douglas is absolutely intent on winning, using all his power to score gordbusters and back suplexes on Lee. Two Pittsburg Plunges, though, do nothing to keep Keith down for a pin. Shane lifts his opponent back up, and Lee is able to mount something of a comeback, still getting some rust off, but a lariat in the corner by Douglas stings hard! But Keith persists and asserts his power advantage, scoring a Germansault suplex and a nasty Meteor for a 2 count. Keith hits the spirit bomb, and Shane puts his foot on the ropes, and the second time Keith hits it, referee Matt Tobin is being forced into a liplock by Francine!! Shane attempts a comeback as Keith separates Tobin from Francine, even landing his patented belly to belly suplex, but it doesn't last long, as a third Spirit Bomb and another Germansault suplex finally puts Shane down!
JAZZ vs KAIRI SANE The reversals fly fast in the opening minute, even as they exit and enter the ring, but Jazz is mostly able to control the flow after that, landing a DDT for a 2 count. But right after, Jazz drags Sane to the middle of the ring, and locks in an STF! With nowhere to go and Jazz outpowering her escape attempts, Sane taps out after nearly a minute of excruciating pain! We fade to black and Linwood bids us goodnight as Jazz celebrates her victory.

The juggling act of running a wrestling federation is certainly never boring. Placating egos, soothing explosive tempers, and dealing with disputes of all sizes... sometimes even letting them settle it out in the ring isn't always an option! And that's on top of managing contenders concerns for championships. The women's qualifying rounds are well under way in that regard, and for the upcoming show there are a pair of matches to continue building in that direction. But as for rankings for established belts, the ranking system is being put into place and will retroactively include the results from Henrietta. At the end of a three month period, the wrestlers with the best win-loss record will challenge for the titles in their respective divisions, and then the records will reset to determine the next contenders in the following three month period. Additionally, a non-title win against the champions will count DOUBLE for the opponents if they win. This, of course, will not prevent champions from accepting challenges for their titles, but it will establish landmark destination events for the company as a whole. The team is also debating how best to handle disqualifications and count outs, and that rule will be placed in time.
In the meantime, issues between certain factions are about to resume being addressed. After he landed the Sky High on the champion in Buffalo, D'Lo Brown has requested a non-title match against Nick Bockwinkle to prove it was no fluke, and Tiger Conway Jr. has volunteered to be in Brown's corner to try to even the odds with Bobby Heenan no doubt having any number of plans to humiliate and/or obliterate D'Lo. Similarly, Hurt Trust LLC is in a non-title match against the Dream Team following that pairings' singles match successes of late. Tomohiro Ishii returns to action after a brief break to take on a very controversial figure of late in Bruiser Brody, no doubt with his past ally Jeff Cobb's physical state on his mind. As an aside, Ishii has also been talking about his positive experiences at GOCW to some of his fellow grapplers in Japan, which could open some more doors for some very interesting competitors making their way to the conference sooner than anticipated.
All this is happening at another debut venue for the conference in the Oneida region for...

Debuting in Clinton, NY, a hot crowd is ready for Greater Ontario Wrestling's next card of in-ring action, with the continuing saga between Keith Lee and company versus the Heenan family being front and center in the minds of many.
JOHNNY RODZ vs SUPER NOVA:
For the first two minutes, it's all Nova as he hits spin kicks, leg drops and clotheslines, even a senton bomb, but can't keep Rodz down. Johnny catches a spin kick and counters enough offense to get in a head butt and launch Nova out of the ring, but he whiffs on a sliding attack to the outside and gets sent back in for a Novacaine and a 2 count. Rodz is not someone to underestimate for sure, but repeated Novacaine has him out like a light.
AN INTERVIEW WITH BARON VON RASCHKE:
We go backstage where Alicia Coast is standing by with the Baron.
Alicia Coast: Ladies and gentlemen, Baron von Raschke has requested this time to speak his mind, but I have to start by saying the assault on Lance Cassidy after your match with him on our last program was utterly inexcusable! Explain yourself!
Baron Von Raschke: The explanation is I am TIRED of weak men and women! I am TIRED of weak nations! Germany, my beloved Fatherland... I don't even RECOGNIZE it anymore!! Germany is a nation of peace, led by a woman who would rather negotiate and placate rather than fight! I am a man of war! The blood of the greatest German aviator, the Red Baron himself, runs through my veins, and I crave violence! So I, as a man with no country, have resolved myself to run through every man before me, and show them a new way of warfare. There will be pain, there will be blood, and if you retreat I promise you it will only get worse!! That's all the people need to know.
The Baron storms off glowering.
Alicia Coast: I don't know about any of you, but it sounds to me like he's going to keep that promise. And speaking of promises, Lady Shani has promised she is going to finally be victorious tonight in her match against Penelope Ford, so let's go to the ring for that match!
LADY SHANI vs "SUPER BAD GIRL" PENELOPE FORD:
A determined Lady Shani is all kicks in the beginning, flooring Penelope after a pair of bicycle kicks and getting just a 2 count. Shani keeps up the pressure, but is unable to keep Ford down for very long. The Super Bad Girl gets a moment of hope as she stops a front lungblower, and here come the chops and elbows to Shani, followed by a Bronco Buster! Ford launches Shani out of the ring, and follows her out, and grabs one of the cameras from a crew member and smashes it over Lady Shani's head! Referee Krissi Harding is having NONE of that and disqualifies Penelope Ford!! Shani looks only somewhat relieved, not happy at the sudden end to the match but she's still just glad Ford has decided to start screaming at the ref rather than continue the assault.
VICIOUS & AUSPICIOUS (Scott Norton & Angelico w/Bobby the Brain Heenan) vs THE KILLER BEES (B. Brian Blair & "Jumping" Jim Brunzell):
Norton and Blair start the match, countering punches and forearms, until some how B Brian Blair gets Norton up for a powerslam... that looks more like Blair just falling forward and accepting it as a powerslam! Quickly realizing he needs to tag fast with his partner, Brunzell is brought in and they score a double back drop on the big man, and as Brunzel tries to close back in Norton tags Angelico. He tries, but Brunzell and Blair are too polished on tandem offense, and the Bee Sting would have put him away if Heenan hadn't gotten the ref's attention! The Killer Double Dropkick sees Heenan put Angelico's foot on the ropes! Heenan is protecting his investments! As the offense continues, Angelico finds an opening slipping out of Blair's suplexes and begins mounting his comeback, tagging in the fresher Norton who tackles Blair to the mat and gets a 2 count. Norton squeezes in bearhugs before tagging Angelico back into the match, and the Johannesburg native gets his revenge as he strikes at Brunzell with an IMPOSSIBLY high flying Superman Senton! The Fall of Angels soon follows, but Blair breaks up the pin attempt! Norton is tagged back in, and just crushes Blair with a bear hug, forcing all the wind out of him and he can't raise his hands when the ref checks.
"THE STONE PITBULL" TOMOHIRO ISHII vs BRUISER BRODY:
Brody seems even angrier than normal, pulverizing Ishii with elbows and a twisting vertical suplex, hitting his famous Jumping Knee very early but the Stone Pitbull kicks out with authority! Ishii just absorbs so much punishment from Brody, and while he can take it as it's given for upwards of two minutes, the wild man is just too wild to let him get a move in edgewise! By the time he hits the Jumping Knee Drop a second time, it's all over.
Bruiser Brody's not done, though. He stomps away at the prone Ishii, and launches referee Matt Tobin out of the ring when he tries to stop it! But before security or the other referees can intervene, Jeff Cobb races out with a chain of his own and BLASTS Brody with it! Bruiser Brody drops to one knee, and Cobb again wallops him with the chain! Cobb tosses Brody out of the ring right as security arrives and forms a barrier between the two rivals, and before Brody can start to clear the cobwebs, Jeff grabs a mic from the ring announce position.
Jeff Cobb: Brody! I can take a loss like a man, but you want to assault me from behind with one of these?! Now it's about more than just fighting the toughest, now it's personal! So let's up the ante. Dog collar match, Bruiser! You and me, as soon as the match makers can open a spot on the schedule!
The crowd roars with approval, and Brody screams out "SEE YOU IN THE RING, PUNK! BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!"
Post Intermission Report:
Linwood Knight: Hello, and welcome back to Greater Ontario Wrestling. During the break, Alicia Coast caught up with Colt Cabana on his way to his autograph signing.
And we cut to the footage.
Alicia Coast: Colt, I can do the walk and talk just fine, but that you asked for this so soon kind of surprised me.
Colt Cabana: Yeah, I was just struck by what the Baron had to say earlier. We're living in some crazy times, sure, it feels like what divides us is stronger than what unites us a lot more than it ever did, but Raschke's just gone off the deep end! Real men shouldn't be defined by violence alone, which I know is a strange thing to say in the context of pro wrestling, but we're more than just brutes swinging chairs at each other! We're athletes, we're neighbors, we're family men- and women, can't forget that; and whether we ask to be or not, we're role models. I go out, I goof around a bit, and yes, it bites me in the ass sometimes, but I don't think that makes me weak! It makes me authentic to who I am! So I'm going to issue the challenge right now, Raschke. There's a contract waiting for you in the boss' office for our next show in Syracuse. Sign your name on the line, and let's see what you're made of.
JOSEPHINE BLATT w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs "THE LIBRARIAN" LEVA BATES:
Realizing she's half the weight of her opponent, Leva's strategy is to focus on striking, hitting Blatt with dropkicks and knees until a Superhero Kick puts her down to the mat. From there she keeps the pressure on with the Shiranui and the Critical Confirmation, but cannot keep Josephine down for a three count despite several attempts. Heenan's antics aren't helping, either. She scores another Critical Confirmation, but Bobby Heenan trips her up in the ropes long enough for Blatt to shake off the cobwebs. Leva is all fight, but the Living Minerva begins to turn the tide and locks in the Body Vise, which the Librarian only escapes the first time by clapping Blatt's ears! From there Leva puts everything she has into this match, landing a fourth Critical Confirmation and putting Blatt down for the three count! Heenan, the audience, the announcers, and even Leva herself are SHOCKED!!
(NOTE: I'm using Leva's 2014 Promoter Prime card now that I have it, and I've simply changed the name of the finisher since it suits her character so well.)
NON TITLE MATCH: GOWC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS HURT TRUST LLC (Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin) vs THE DREAM TEAM (Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine w/"Luscious" Johnny V):
Shelton wants to end it quickly, dragon whipping Valentine and hitting a T-Bone suplex for nearly a three, but Beefcake was too close and broke it up handily. Shelton tags in Cedric, who tries to out strike the Hammer. Didn't work. Valentine lands a hard body slam and goes to work on Cedric, getting a 2 count off a belly to back suplex before bringing Beefcake into the match, who stomps and elbows Alexander, just rag-dolling the smaller man around the ring, until Beefcake gets cocky, tags in Valentine when he doesn't have Cedric in his grasp, and Shelton is tagged back in as well! Shelton nearly gets a pin on Valentine following a corner splash, and he and Cedric quickly tag in and out to keep Greg off balance until Beefcake can successfully make a blind tag and he and Shelton begin trading blows. Benjamin gets the better of it, and lands Paydirt for a 2 count. A second Paydirt, another 2 count! A THIRD Paydirt, consecutively, and Johnny V tries to get the ref's attention but can't! Hurt Trust LLC successfully gets a victory in this non-title match! Valentine is arguing with his manager, and Beefcake comes between them once he comes to, allowing for cooler heads to prevail.
NON TITLE MATCH: GOWC MENS CHAMPION NICK BOCKWINKLE w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs D'LO BROWN w/Tiger Conway Jr.:
Right out the gate, D'Lo is a house of fire, hitting Sudden Impact, but Bockwinkle catches him in the turnbuckles with an elbow. Nick chokes him on the ropes, then tosses Brown into the opposite rope, but D'Lo is quick to tackle him down, and hits a flying clothesline off the top rope! A Samoan Drop Flapjack just gets Brown a 2 count, and D'Lo keeps up the offense, getting another 2 off a second successful SD Flapjack. Heenan is screaming for Bockwinkle to pick up the pace, and finally does when he ducks a clothesline and lands a drop kick. Nick begins to build some offense, forcing Brown to escape an abdominal stretch via a rope break. D'Lo somehow powers out of the Bockwinkle Sleeper, only to be given a pile driver... that's STILL not enough to put him down! When D'Lo is back on his feet, the two struggle for dominance, and when they spill out of the ring Tiger snatches a chair from Bockwinkle, shouting "not today, chump!"
Back in the ring, Bockwinkle is able to take back over and eventually lock on the sleeper again, and D'Lo is able to elbow out of it. Bockwinkle decides on a change of tactic, and locks on the Figure Four Leglock! D'Lo struggles, and tries to reverse the hold's pressure, but it's just too much and he has no choice but to tap out! Bockwinkle refuses to release the hold, however, and Tiger Conway Jr. is about to jump in to break it up when Scott Norton emerges from the back and blasts him with a clothesline!
Norton just keeps beating down Tiger and Bockwinkle is now going for D'Lo's neck, which leads to Keith Lee and Super Nova racing down to the ring and making the Heenan Family retreat. The rest of the Heenan family meets their fellows at the entrance way, but Justin Toner, the head of talent relations, storms out past them and stands between both groups with security in tow. And Keith Lee grabs a microphone from the ring announcer’s position.
Keith Lee: Hey, Bockwinkle! Since we’ve got a member of the management out here, how about this proposition: in two weeks, in Syracuse, you put that title on the line against me! I beat the other finalist from the championship tournament, and now after all the crap you and your goon squad have pulled on me and my friends here, I want… no, I DEMAND my satisfaction against you!
Alicia Coast races out with a mic to get the champ’s reply.
Nick Bockwinkle: I’m not putting this belt up just because you’re asking for it! So you beat Shane Douglas, that’ll get you recognition in dirt sheets and on that tweety bird social network rubbish, but it won’t get you to the table with me!
Keith Lee: Then what will, fair Nicholas?
The Brain whispers something in Bockwinkle’s ear, and the champ smiles.
Nick Bockwinkle: Keith, if you can beat Haku in a no disqualifications match, then you get your title shot!
Keith Lee: Deal.
The fans seem pretty satisfied with this, as we close on Keith and Bockwinkle staring each other down while their assorted allies continue to trash talk and issue their own threats and challenges. The show might be over, but the story is another matter...

This was a fun card. There seems to be a little dissention among the Dream Team. I can't wait for Haku/Lee. That match should be tremendous.

DATE: October 23 through November 5
A growing company needs to continually re-evaluate how it engages in business, and in the case of a wrestling promotion, it means making sure there’s opportunities for everyone to compete and earn their living. As rosters swell, this inevitably means finding more time for them to compete on. It’s one thing to allow wrestlers to compete elsewhere when they’re not booked for an event, but when rankings become involved as they recently have at GOWC, not being on a card for more than a month is actively detrimental to championship opportunities. As such, two measures are being put into place. First, starting in December, GOWC will move from a bi-weekly schedule to a weekly one, continuing on IWTV as they have been. Secondly, before going live on IWTV, a few matches will be recorded exclusively for YouTube both as a means for new talent to be tried out and evaluated before a long term commitment is made, and for matches not necessarily big enough for the main show. These will appear in a program dubbed “GOWC Weekly Review,” which will be hosted by promotion owner James Irish and also feature interview segments and any number of other things. As a proof of concept, Malia Hosaka is being given a try-out match against Maki Itoh, and if she comes out the victor, she will not only for sure have a contract with the company, but also her first point to qualify for the eventual women’s championship match.
Going into the Syracuse show, a lot is going on! The main event, of course, is Keith Lee facing off with Haku in a No Disqualification match, and if Keith wins, he gets his title shot against Nick Bockwinkle. The issues between the Heenan Family and Keith’s circle of friends, who are dubbing themselves the Limitless Legion, won’t be contained to one match, however; Tiger Conway Jr is demanding a match with Scott Norton in the face of two consecutive attacks from behind perpetrated by the bruiser from Minneapolis. Hurt Trust LLC, meanwhile, has lobbied for a series of non-title matches with every tag team on the roster, eager to find out who would make a worthy challenger, and after their jaw dropping match with War Machine, they hope Bear Country will give them the fight they want. They didn't have to lobby hard; having the tag champs on the card on a regular basis is absolutely helping sell tickets! Baron Von Raschke’s warpath continues as well, with Colt Cabana willing to throw himself into the fray to prove a point or two of his own.
All this, and heaven knows what else, when we reach...

A packed house in Syracuse is virtually frothing at their mouths for tonight's action! Here we go!
THE TEXAS HANGMEN (KILLER & PSYCHO) vs THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & “JUMPING” JIM BRUNZELL) Right off the bat B Brian Blair blasts Killer with an arm drag and a power slam, and scores a 2 count off a very early pin attempt. Brunzell is tagged in for the Bee Sting, and the pin is attempted again, and Psycho charges in and is intercepted by Blair as Killer just kicks out! Jim goes for a body slam but the stronger Killer out muscles him and begins kicking and gouging at Brunzell's eyes. It's back and forth between these two before Psycho is tagged in, but Brunzell is on such a hot streak Psycho doesn't last long before going back to tag Killer! Killer quite literally uses his head to send Brunzell on his back, and the resulting pin only reaches 2. Killer chokes Brunzell as he lifts him up, tossing him into the turnbuckle, but the quick and agile Killer Bee dodges out of the way and Killer finds himself flying out of the ring! Blair tags back in and mounts his offense when Killer returns to the ring. What follows is the Killer Bees giving the Hangmen's Killer a master class in cutting off the ring, and once it looks like his partner is just down and out, Psycho dashes in, gets intercepted by Brunzell, and Killer reverses the pinning combination on Blair with a fist full of tights! The referee doesn't see it, and the Texas Hangmen steal a victory from the Killer Bees!!
“HACKSAW” JIM DUGGAN vs. “THE FRANCHISE” SHANE DOUGLAS w/Francine: Duggan locks up with the Franchise, and Shane slips behind him and hits an inverted rolling neck snap followed by a gordbuster, leading to a pin attempt and a 2 count. A quick Pittsburgh Plunge also gets a 2, and Shane lifts Hacksaw up to get some strikes in, but Hacksaw blocks a shot and scoops Shane up for a spinning body slam! Hacksaw starts clubbing Douglas with punches and every clothesline in his arsenal, knocking him down for fleeting moments, but Shane dodges one after a full minute of them and Duggan hits the turnbukle, crashing to the mat. Shane covers, and just gets a 2 count. Shane tries for pin after pin, and Duggan just refuses to stay down! It takes a second Pittsburgh Plunge to finally keep Hacksaw down long enough for the three.
INTERVIEW WITH “THE LIBRARIAN” LEVA BATES Backstage with Alicia and the blue-haired brains of the women's division.
Alicia Coast: Leva, thank you for giving us this time, and congratulations on your massive win over Josephine Blatt at our last event!
Leva Bates: Thank you so much, Alicia! I was previously thinking about doing my first interview or promo or, you know, whatever, and I’d say my stuff about smarts are strength and knowledge is power, but a victory over Blatt?? I wasn’t sure I had that in me, either! She’s a power… house… who is standing right behind me, isn’t she?
Yup, folks, the camera pans over to give viewers a better look at Blatt, looming behind the Librarian menacingly.
Josephine Blatt: We’re not finished. Only when I say so. Once this title situation is settled, I will see you in the ring again.
Leva Bates: Okay, yeah, I’m sure we will. Shake on it? I mean, no hard feelings, right?
Leva extends her hand, and Josephine stares at it as if it were growing a multi-colored mole. With a scoff, she turns and walks away.
Leva Bates: Wow. Rude, much?
Alicia Coast: Let’s get back to ringside.
COLT CABANA vs BARON VON RASCHKE: Colt is just on fire, eager for his first major victory now that the rankings are in place, hitting a running lariat, and sending the Baron into the corner for the Flying Apple! He goes for Billy Goat's Curse, but the Baron gets out and escapes the ring. Colt is about to follow up, but the Baron pulls him out and slams Colt's head into the ring steps. Rolling his foe back in, Raschke locks in a strenuous rear chinlock, but Colt powers out of it, sending the Baron to the mat and tries for the Superman Pin to get a 2 count! He picks the Baron back up, lands some more strikes including the Bionic Elbow, but the Baron sucker punches him and begins to mount a comeback, raking his nails over Cabana and punching him down to size. Tossing Colt over the ropes, the Baron follows him and, as if calling back to what Colt said two weeks ago, swings a steel chair right at his head! Colt is easy prey for the Brain Claw, and the Baron claims the victory via submission.
“THE NATIVE BEAST” NYLA ROSE vs JAZZ: Right at the bell, Jazz comes off the ropes and tries a dropkick, but the Native Beast catches her legs and throws her to the other side of the ring! Nyla begins her assault, but only gets so far as Jazz reverses an Irish Whip and drops Nyla with a bruising boot to the face! Jazz puts the boots to Nyla, and locks Southern Comfort in the dead center of the ring, and Nyla has to tap.
Interview with Shelton Benjamin: Back from intermission, we're treated to an interview with one half of the tag team champions recorded just moments ago:
Alicia Coast Excuse me, Shelton, do you have a spare moment?
Shelton Benjamin: If we do this on the way to my autograph session, sure.
Alicia Coast: I just wanted to quickly ask you about your motivation for taking on all these non-title matches with the rest of the tag team roster here at GOWC. That’s one hell of a breakneck schedule!
Shelton Benjamin: It’s a calculated move, Alicia, one motivated by where Cedric and I were before. When we were part of the Hurt Business down in Graceland Championship Wrestling territory, we spent more time running interference for the guy on top of the faction than we did defending the belts. And Cedric, he and I are savvy guys, we read the sheets, the comments sections, and we kept seeing the same thing over and over: “paper champions.” And that ate away at us, big time. When everything went south with the Hurt Business, us two decided that wouldn’t happen again if we scored tag team gold once more. And here we are, we have belts, there’s a ranking system, with mandated defenses only at the end of a quarter. Challenges are allowed, though, so consider this series of non-title matches to be the audition process. If a team can get a win over us, they pass, they fight for the belts.
Alicia Coast: That’s great, but what happens if a team cheats to victory?
Shelton Benjamin: … pray for them that they don’t mess around and find out.
TIGER CONWAY JR. vs SCOTT NORTON w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: Scott Norton shoulder tackles Tiger Conway Jr just before the bell can ring, and just obliterates him with back suplexes and knife edge chops. Norton launches the second generation wrestler out of the ring, and goes for more chair-centric mayhem, repeating a theme between him and Conway since he debuted, but Conway dodges and Norton only hits the ring post, which Norton himself hits via one of Conway's drop kicks! Norton instinctively gets into the ring, only for Conway to land a flying head butt on him! The resulting pin only gets him a 2 count. Tiger presses his agility advantage, hitting from multiple angles but still only managing a 2 after a quick barrage of offense. As Norton is down, Heenan tries to slip him a roll of quarters, but Conway catches it it first... only for the referee to catch him holding it! Conway is disqualified! The crowd is LIVID that the Brain's gambit succeeded better than he could have dared hope!
It doesn't stop Conway and Norton from continuing to battle, though, and soon they're joined by some of their respective allies, and later the referee corps who manages to split it all up.
NON TITLE MATCH: HURT TRUST LLC (CEDRIC ALEXANDER & SHELTON BENJAMIN) vs BEAR COUNTRY (BEAR BOULDER & BEAR BRONSON): Cedric looks down the ring at the massive Bear Boulder with resolve, but all the resolve in the world isn't going to stop a nearly 100 pound weight advantage from making itself known. Boulder back body drops Alexander and rag dolls him about the ring, as the lighter wrestler tries to counter attack but cannot stop the big man's momentum. Bronson is tagged in and gets a near fall after a pumphandle exploder, and the Bear Trap double team (and another 2 count) leads to Boulder's mighty Bearsault! Shelton tries to break it up the resulting pin, but somehow Cedric kicks out anyway!! Frustrated, Boulder tosses Cedric out of the ring, and the game of cat and mouse is on from there as Cedric desperately tries to get away from his massive foes and make a legal tag! Boulder gets some more licks in, but a missed big boot is the opening Cedric needs for Shelton to get in the match! And as the two trade counters and reversals, Benjamin hits a THUNDEROUS superkick and scores a 2 count that was tantalizingly close to three!
Shelton keeps up the offense, but Boulder is able to overpower him for a Death Valley Driver and a 2 count before tagging Bear Bronson back in, who tries to keep up the assault but Benjamin's technical know-how prevails and he gets a 2 of his own following a corner splash. Cedric tags in, hits a pair of scintillating enziguris, and comes off the top rope with a cross body block for a pin attempt and a 2 count. Cedric goes to continue the assault, but Boulder makes a blind tag, and the duo again hit the Bear Trap for a 2 count. Now Bear Country smells blood, and lands the Elevator Drop on Cedric, only for Shelton to break up the pin attempt! Boulder sends Cedric out of the ring, and a desperate Alexander narrowly avoids being pancaked between Boulder and the ring steps! Alexander gets back in, waits for Boulder, and tries for a missile drop kicks, but Boulder catches him... only for their combined momentum to take down the referee! With the ref down, Bear Country hits REPEATED Elevator Drops on Cedric, and Shelton has had enough!! He comes in, plasters Boulder with a drop kick, and downs Bronson with a springboard clothesline, giving Cedric enough time to revive himself and try to cover Boulder, and the ref crawls over... 1... 2... just 2!
Shelton just won't be denied once he's tagged back in, even as Boulder tags in Bronson, and he endures a Grizzly Driver for a near fall, but it all comes down to Shelton hitting Pay Dirt! Boulder tries to interfere, but Cedric is somehow lively enough to grab onto the big man's leg, preventing him from getting in the ring!! 1... 2... 3!!! The tag team champions win one of their hardest fought matches to date! Ultimately sportsmanship wins out as after the replay we see the champs extend their hands, and Bear Country accepts.
NO DQ MATCH: KEITH LEE vs HAKU w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: Before he can be properly introduced, Keith removes his entrance jacket as Haku charges right at him and into a clubbing forearm! Lee works his foe over with elbows and fists, then tries to drive Haku into the ring post but a Mongolian Chop from Haku stops that. Haku targets Keith's back with side backbreakers and vicious feet to that area, and Keith is trying to mount a defense against it as he gets into the ring with Haku right behind. The native of Tonga lands a sitout power bomb on the limitless one, and Haku only gets a 2 count for it. Haku waits for Keith to get up and rocks his head with a savate kick, sending Keith reeling out of the ring where the Brain hands Haku a kendo stick. Several nasty sounding thwacks later, Keith is rolled back into the ring so his foe can finish the assault. Haku goes for another side backbreaker, but Keith summons his strength and powers Haku into a belly to belly suplex! He tries for a pin but only gets 2.
With the crowd firmly on his side, Keith beele's Haku across the ring, launches him again with a release German suplex, and lands the Spirit Bomb! Lee launches Haku into the turnbuckle, and waits for him to come back to hit the Big Bang Catastrophe!! This move has fallen so many, but Haku is too stubborn and Lee too thrashed from the kendo stick strikes to keep his foe down. Keith strikes with the Grizzly Magnum and tosses Haku into the corner, but Haku comes off with a clothesline and now Heenan slides in a chair for his man to use. And as Haku is about to strike again, Lee blocks the blow, elbows Haku's shoulder, and belly to belly suplexes him onto the chair!! Heenan is agog, and more so when Haku kicks out! Keith Lee signals for a second Big Bang Catastrophe, but a desperate Bobby Heenan slides into the ring and jumps on Keith's back in an attempt to choke him out. Keith just shrugs, and falls over onto his back, sandwiching the Brain between himself and the mat! Keith hits BBC, and HAKU STILL SOMEHOW KICKS OUT!! (Seriously, rolled a 12 here!) The Limitless One gets back up, and Spirit Bomb's Haku on the chair, finally getting the three count!
The rest of the Heenan Family charges the ring, Keith's allies charge in right after, and the brawl looks like it's not going to go well for the scrappy good guys until from the crowd KYLE O'REILLY jumps the barricade and starts clearing house with a steel chair! Once things have calmed down, ring announcer Mike Cusey speaks up.
Mike Cusey: Ladies and Gentlemen, Greater Ontario Wrestling management has made a decision in light of the events tonight. In our company's debut at the Buffalo Riverworks on December 3rd, Nick Bockwinkle will defend his title against Keith Lee, and both of their groups of allies will be allowed at ringside for a LUMBERJACK MATCH!
Lee grins at the prospect, Bockwinkle nods in understanding and talks strategy with Scott Norton while Haku and Big Bully Busick see to their manager's hysterical ramblings after being flattened like a pancake by Lee. Our announcers wish the viewers good night, and we fade to black.
